Blind Pass Band
Blind Pass Band
The Blind Pass Band is a six piece Bluesy, Funky progressive experiment with groove oriented music. The band performs every weekend around Lee County at places like the Jacaranda of Sanibel, the Crows Nest of Captiva, the Beached Whale of Fort Myers Beach, Dwyers of Fort Myers, and more recently Berts of Matlache—as well as private parties and occasionally venturing into other establishments.

The band lineup is as follows:

Lisa George is as spunky as she is lovely and her stage presence and connection with Blind Pass’ audiences creates a fun and easy atmosphere for whatever the venue. Her vocals are raw but feminine, Jazzy and Bluesy at the same time. A gifted songwriter, her contributions to the band go without saying.

Ritchie Iannuzzi, formerly of the Juice Band, is a graduate of Berkley and is “in my opinion one of the finest rhythm section guys I’ve heard in the SW Fla. area”, according to band leader Marty Stokes Ritchie’s commitment to the band and propensity for ‘time and space’ with this music is extremely hard to come by, as can be heard in his congas, full percussion grooves, and commanding stage presence.

Lonnie Stack, cornerstone of the Blind Pass rhythm section can lay down the grooves like few other drummers. Simple, tight, and definitive would best describe his style, always keeping the band ‘in the pocket’.

Todd Haut lays down a very funky Bass guitar line. His cheerful attitude and high energy injects pure spunk into the Blind Pass rhythm section. Todd’s musical background includes jazz, rock, and as demonstrated in his vocals and playing style---a special place for the Blues.

Steve Smith is recognizable as formerly with Tangueray Bay. A recent addition and asset to Blind Pass, Steve is a great bassist, vocalist, and his contribution with Blind Pass is more recently as keyboardist. Steve delivers a full B-3 sound as well as piano.

Local artist and songwriter Marty Stokes, founder and leader of Blind Pass—is committed to delivering an upbeat and originally progressive Blues style to SW Fla. His guitar work and vocals add a raw feel to their music, supporting the groove with blistering delivery, and a style of his own. Stokes’ children are 8th generation Sanibel Islanders, making him a true native here and proud of it.

The material Blind Pass covers ranges from hard driving Stevie Ray to soulful Joss Stone. From bluesy Debbie Davies to funky Sam & Dave. From progressive Blues Image to Southern Blues gentleman Delbert McClinton. From wailin’ Jimmy Thackery to raw Johnny Winter. From Aretha Franklin, Etta James, and Marcia Ball to Johnny Lang, John Mayer and lots more-----then add the originals, some contemporary, a few classics, and along with the Blind Pass promise to entertain— nobody leaves disappointed.
